Thanks for the link for Recuva - giving it a shot. I've been playing with Testdisk since last night, and It's just a bit over my head. I'll go read the thread though in case there's anything that will help me navigate it.

Edit: ok, i think i got testdisk to detect the data. It now says there is a FAT partition on the card...if that's good news. I used it to repair a partition (on a flash drive, go figure)

Editx2: now doing that got PhotoRec to detect the card! - I've recovered 10 so far - cross fingers.
