If you want to throw out flippant nonsense, at least try to get it straight. I said the whole 'scary' thing was a handy EXCUSE for the Conservatives for losing. It's much easier than saying our policies were too right wing, Harper campaigned poorly, members continually said stupid things in the media, etc ad nauseum.
Contrast it to this election - Conservatives have largely muzzled their idiots, policy has shifted to the centre, Harper has been effective, etc. If the Liberals say "Negative Conservative advertising gave us a bad image" would that be an EXCUSE for losing? Why yes it would - and with your self-professed open mindedness, I'm sure you'll manage to see at least this half of the point. From there, it's not a big leap to work back to the previous election cycle and recognize an EXCUSE for losers, regardless of which side of the fence they are on.
