Default WEEK 10: LABOUR DAY CLASSIC - Eskimos at STAMPS

WEEK 10: Eskimos at STAMPEDERS

Second game between the two Alberta rivals this season. Stamps lost the first game 24-19 on Week 4 due to inconsistent offense and Rob Maver's foot. After that game, the two teams went the opposite ways. Stamps started winning while the Eskimos struggled.

OFFENSE:

Last week was the best offensive output for the Stamps this season. Burris threw for over 400 yards and 3 receivers(Lewis, Rambo and Forzani) caught the ball for over 100 yards. Running backs on the other hand wasn't a big factor other than blocking. Reynolds after fumbling the ball in the first quarter did not carry the ball much.

Offensive line did a great job last week against the Als. Tony Washington did some hiccups late in the game with 3 penalties but other than that, they protected Burris very well all night.

Stamps offense might have another good day on Monday as the Eskimos' defense have been struggling after their fast start. DLine Greg Peach will be back for the Eskimos but I am not sure if he can make the difference.

DEFENSE:

Stamps Defense is last in quarterback sack department with 10 but with the way the Eskies OLine plays, we might see the Stamps adding a few more sacks. Are the Stamps worried about the QB sack stat? Not really.

MLB Juwan Simpson came back in the lineup after missing the past 3 games with knee injury against the Als but he might sit out against the Eskimos on Labour Day. The team is not that worried though because they know they have Robert McCune to take the spot if need be. During the 3 games McCune played as a MLB, the Stamps won 3 games. Torrey Davis will take McCune's roster if Simpsons miss the game. Non-import LB Justin Cone will also be in the lineup to replace Marc Calixte.

DB Keon Raymond continues to make the difference on defense.

It doesn't look like we will see CB Brandon Browner and DL Tom Johnson back in Stamps' uniform this season. Tom Johnson just made the New Orleans Saints' roster while Seahawks are high on Browner. The media was picking Browner over Kennard Cox to make the Seattle Seahawks' roster.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

Kicker Rene Paredes is giving Huff and the coaching staff something to think about when Rob Maver gets off the 9-game injury list pretty soon. Paredes been good since after he struggled on his 2nd game. Stamps will miss Marc Calixte experience in special team coverage but the Stamps are high on Justin Cone.

Game will be played at McMahon Stadium Monday.

GO STAMPS GO!!!
