Default Islanders Re-Acquire Leopold

WELCOME HOME JORDAN!

UNIONDALE, NY - Sources have confirmed that the Islanders have re-acquired young defenceman Jordan Leopold from the Chicago Blackhawks.

After moving Leopold with Tuomo Ruutu and Michel Ouellet for Danny Markov and Marek Svatos just over a week ago, the Islanders re-acquired the Minnesota-native for forward Chris Drury.

After moving Leopold, who led the Islanders prior to his departure with a +16 rating, the Isles defence slipped allowing 21 goals against in 5 games.

"He was obviously a big part of our team," GM Wu commented. "We gave up a good forward here in Drury, but in the end, we were willing to take a hit up front to get Jordan back."

Since acquiring Paul Kariya from the Nashville Predators, the forward has 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in 4 games and likely made Drury expendable.

Leopold was ecstatic upon receiving the news stating that he never wanted to leave in the first place.
