When I was a kid, I used to think it would be awesome if a huge low velocity asteroid dug a huge channel through the area west of Calgary and it filled with water creating a giant freshwater lake the size of lake Winnipeg. We'd also have to build a really cool suspension bridge across it to reach Banff.
Also one end would create a natural mountain for closer skiing and the asteroid would also have been made of diamonds and gold.
