Got an 11pm call from my mom that my Grandpa broke hs hip yesterday, and she asked if I'd drive with her [drive her] to Edmonton.
After Airdrie I was fairly certain I was going to die. The odd crazy mofo ripping down the highway at 150kms/hr; morons with their high beams always on; 18 wheelers that I was convinced could not see me and would run me off the road.
I saw more dead and alive animals on the road than I've ever seen, and I was waiting for a porcupine or badger to dart in front of me causing me to swerve into a semi and get torn apart and then flattened in a horrible death.
Then I started to think about my dogs who are at home, and I'd imagine one of them getting out of the car for whatever reason and getting smoked by a car. Or eaten by a badger while I was taking them pee.
Night time driving on the highway sucks.
