Sounds like Hamilton is getting a brand new stadium. Instead of half of Ivor Wynne being demolished, the whole thing will be demolished, and a 22500 seat stadium put in it's place. Quite a small stadium, but better to build from sratch then renovate...

City manager Chris Murray advised council that the city learned in the spring that the north stands at Ivor Wynne, which were slated to be renovated, would not accommodate seats with backs because of the grade. After a meeting earlier this summer, officials agreed to build new stands. The project is still expected to meet its $155-million budget.
