Both Parks & Rec and Community took a little while to get their feet under them.

P&R was like The Office and had a short first season that wasn't that good, it got a lot better once the actors figured out their characters.

I'd give Community until at least the Mexican Halloween episode before giving up on it. It was pretty much a completely different show by the end of the first season.
