The Edmonton Oilers have traded Mikko Koivu and Severin Blindenbacher to the Flyers for Patrik Elias, Brandon Burlon, Marcus Foligno and Joel Armia.

This deal was in the works some time ago but had stalled. I had all but decided Koivu wasn't going anywhere until this offer came up and it came together in 10 minutes. I'm glad to be adding some solid prospects to a farm system that is frankly pretty sad looking.

Elias has a history at center and will likely start the year there with New Jersey(NHL) with Zajac injured. The Oilers will also be looking for Elias to take over the #1 center role in place of Koivu.
