Still, way too many factors for this to be meaningful to me. I think the most important part of the sentence is 'on average'. It's probably not even the television itself, just the fact that if your the type of person to watch a lot of TV, your also the type of person who eats poorly and doesn't get enough exercise. Which isn't really anything people don't know already.

The funny thing is every hour reduces your life by 21.8 minutes supposedly. What about the hour spent watching? That's usually a waste too!
Under 25, there is a large chance of recovery from a lot of bad things, like smoking. The older you get, the more permanent and damaging certain activities or diseases or injuries become in the long term.
