After reading Arseblog this morning, an interesting question is circulating in my head: Should Arsenal have been awarded a penalty yesterday after the Barton-Gervinho incident? Barton was cautioned, which indicated a foul occurred, and it took place in the box. As such, should Arsenal have been awarded a spot-kick for being fouled in the box?
One might say that play was stopped because it was a confrontation between two players but Gervinho's slap took place after the whistle was blown no? Just some food for thought/discussion.
