Pens Offense wakes up against Jackets
The Pittsburgh Penguins who were blasted by GM/Coach Goffie in yesterday's practice for the win one lose one attitude they have been displaying came out firing. Captain Peter Forsberg led by example recording his first hattrick of the season and added an assist, and newcomer Ilya Kovalchuk added 5 points on a 2 goal 3 assist night. Chris Chelios, Todd Bertuzzi, Jan Bulis, and Alexei Kovalev all had 2 points in the win. The win moved Pittsburgh into 4th in the Gretzky Conference 1 point ahead of The Ottawa Senators, and 3 back of the Boston Bruins.
