And I'm not defending Barton, but at least on his dive there was actual contact made.
Gervinho's dive was brutal. I'd like to see guys get suspended for blatant acting, whether it be to draw a penalty or a red card. I know that the ref didn't bite, and a yellow may have been coming his way anyway had things not gotten silly, but I think that the diving needs to be dealt with even more harshly.
Barton was lucky to get just a yellow though, for sure.
