Lately, after a few minutes into watching a recording I get "Press recordings to watch a recorded show" or something like that. That stays on the screen until I stop the show and restart it...and then there is a good chance it will come back again. If I don't do anything eventually the playback will stop and then I have to go back to recordings anyway...but guess what...all my recordings are gone. They slowly come back 1 by 1. Very frustrating. Rebooting does not fix this.
There is no way my 30 second skip button is just doing 30 seconds...and there is no way my 7 seconds back button is doing 7 seconds. If I jump ahead 30 seconds I should be able to push the back button 5 times to get back 35 seconds. Nope...try more like 20 times.
Recordings are becoming more and more pixelated and people talking on shows are starting to get robot voice.
In the last week parts of shows are getting cut off or I get long black silence in the middle of a show.
Why is a good TV product so hard to come by? Isn't it 2011? If I wasn't in a 3 year contract with Telus I would be back with Bell where the only issue I had was the monthly bill.
Edit: Forgot to add that having your TV and internet go through the same router is stupid. I had to restart my router due to internet issues. Guess what happens when you restart your router when someone is watching TV and you have a show recording?
Also, I recorded a crappy scifi movie. It recorded a whopping 10 seconds of it. So I play it back a few times to ensure I'm not an idiot. Nope..just 10 seconds. The last time I check the pvr restarts on me and then poof the movie was gone from my recordings....which is fine because it didn't get recorded anyway but WTF?

It's been getting sketchy for me too. The Optik software on the XBox 360 is so slow it's nearly unusable. When I turn it on it takes about 5 minutes before I can even view the guide or change channels (short of punching in the number manually). It's downloading the lineup or something? It crashes the XBox if I go into recorded TV too quickly.
It might have been talked about, but what's the deal with the verbal 3 year contract? How do they enforce that?
