Some good ideas in this thread....Ive been putting together our list for what seems like months now....so hard to cut it down to 50 songs.
So far I only have one rule: it's gotta be dancy. It can be slow dancy or fast dancy, country, rock, pop, whatever....but it's gotta have a beat. Since I'm more of a rock guy, unfortunately this means a lot of my favorite music got the cut pretty early....but there's nothing worse than people just standing around for 4 minutes because some totally un-danceable song comes on. (although I am thinking of putting Baba O'Riley as the entrance song).
I'm a kid of the 90's, but a huge chunk of my music is from the 80s. Besides some Britpop, not a love of dance songs from the 90's/00's I'm really digging....
Btw, is it in bad form to ask the DJ to deny ALL requests? I have had enough issues of cutting my music list down of songs I like, I don't wan a minute filled up with anything else. Plus I don't want to some maroon ruining my wedding with Who Let the Dogs Out.
