I will say though, he's a hell of a leader and seems like a tremendous guy. I'm happy having him keep the spot warm for D'Arnaud next year.
He is in the middle of the pack in with his 4 errors all year for a .993 fielding percentage, 12th in MLB in assists from the catcher position, range factor for his position 11th in MLB.

He's bad in two important categories - passed balls/wild pitches which totally sucks and his throwing percentage is not great either (although he is still better than alot of long time guys at the position like John Buck, Pierzynski and Brian McCann).

He also has a pretty respectable catchers ERA with one and a half starting pitchers in romero and morrow and a bunch of crap for most of the season.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's great defensively, he's learning the position and is starting out a poor catch and throw receiver, but he is a solid fielding catcher, and at least average at handling a staff so far and suggesting he is one of the worst defensive catchers in the league is a bit lazy IMO.
