I'm starting to have some issues with my Macbook. It is probably about 4.5 years old, and is beginning to show its age I think. I've noticed that it is running quite a bit slower than it used to, the fan seems to stay on an awful lot more now, and in fact once it's on, it doesn't seem to shut off until I shut the computer down. I do all the updates that it recommends I do, and I wonder if it just can't handle the newest software so well anymore. Here are the stats on the unit:
Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K540)...
I'm not sure how relevant any of that information is. But is there anything I can do to help the performance on the Macbook? Or is it simply getting old?
