I certainly understand why Palmer wants out of Cincy, but holy crap is he being an ass about how he is trying to accomplish it.
That being said, there is NO WAY the Bengals can just allow him to stay "retired" and not negotiate a deal with someone to get a return on him...that would be beyond assinine. That club and their history of mediocrity and inability to build anything long term simply cannot afford to sit on an assett that could easily garner a return better than a Kolb or someone of lower quality. Like him or not, Palmer has a pretty good career going in comparison to most NFL QB's and he isnt an "old" guy yet.
Maybe a good fit in Minny to mentor Ponder for a couple years as an example AND give that club a chance to be competitive at the same time.
