He's the face of the NDP and socialist movement in this country, but it took him years to achieve this, I don't think that they have another person in their party with his strength of personality, unlike the cons who could fall back to several pretty strong party members.
That is the party's problem right there. The NDP didn't win 100 seats. Jack Layton did. The people voted for the man, not the party, and I do not envy whoever has to try and hold that together one bit.
