That being said... I couldn't give a crap about big name guests. Adam Hardwick is a much more interesting and better guest then Dolly Parton.
Conan's problem isn't guests, is that his show just hasn't lived up to what Conan is capable of. He has to push more, he has to get out of the studio and create more. The "it's gooood" Captain America/Entertainment Tonight thing was funny, at first... but you don't need to do it 50 times a show.
I never turned into Late Night with Conan O'Brien because of the guest list.

thing is a show like his lives and dies by the guests, it has do when the interviews make up for half of the runtime. wheras a show like The Daily Show can avoid the celebrities all together because the guest segments are short and Jon Stewart is one of the best in the business at conducting an interesting interview. it doesn't matter who he has on, i almost never skip the interview because Stewart is so good at carrying the conversation (contrast to Colbert who, while i love the show, half the time i skip the interview because him in character just can't carry an interview)
i was really hoping that when Conan left NBC he would so something different. he's a very funny, talented guy, so it sucks to see him holding back because of trying to conform to the same tired old late night format
