1) Wouldn't it make more sense for Bane to destroy Batman at the end of the movie, that allows you to nicely remove Christian Bale from the series but open the possibility for him to do a brief cameo if they chose to move forward with a new trilogy instead of another reboot. Have him bust up Batman break his back whatever, and at the end you can have Wayne in a Hospital bed bitter and angry and crying for vengence and searching for a new Batman, maybe someone that shows up in this movie. I disagree. Maybe Batman is getting tired of keeping an eye on a city full of people who don't care for him? Remember at the end of last movie Batman is basically a fugitive so I don't see people welcoming him with open arms this movie. If Bane puts the boots to him early it gives him the perfect reason to say screw this, Gotham is on it's own. Then it sets up an arc for him to come back triumphantly and the people of Gotham will be begging for him to come back.
If the rise and fall of Batman isn't perfect super hero plot material I don't know what is.
I really don't want to see Batman laying in a hospital bed crying and telling someone else they have to carry on what he has started...How lame! I have to believe that Nolan is better than that as it would be such a cop out.
Nolan doesn't have to end this trilogy so they can continue it, these 3 movies have been so good there is no way that another director would have the balls to come in and try to pick up where he left off. The next director would have to know that they would always be in the shadow of Nolan and I would hope they would want to go and make it their own.
