Wendys advertises that to, with irradiation techniques ground beef will stay "fresh" for several days. Save On Foods only sells this type of ground beef, not frozen does not mean "better" IMO.
Met a Regional Manager for Five Guys etc... in Moxies one night, had a good convo. None of their product is ever frozen, they get their buns couriered in daily, same with their ground beef. I asked him about not using Canadian potatoes, for quality/ marketing reasons they will only use potatoes from the 44th? (or something like that, Idaho) parallel.
