The first 4 books were pretty entertaining. Books 5/6 were ok but started to get worse. Book 7 was not very good at all and had a huge cop out ending.
I'm probably alone, but I hated the ending of book 7 enough to make me dislike the rest of the series.
The movies got progressively more boring after the third movie.
