This argument always kills me.
I've crunched the "Condo Fees versus Household Costs" equation so many times that I've lost count, and the only solid conclusion I've ever come up is the most obvious one:
In a condo, you pay a modest premium for convenience. With a home, you save a modest premium by putting in some effort.
My only real fear living in a condo (which I do) is a special assessment that I have zero control over. But hey, stuff happens to houses all the time as well.
