Edit- Also, if they do a 4th and there is no reboot then the only baddie they really have left is Unicron so.... a reboot is pretty much necessary.

Also, on the topic of a ReBoot movie. Apparently one has been in development by Maineframe Rainmaker Entertainment since 2008, so it's unlikely to see the light of day at this point.
