The Rouge brewing bar is good for beer, but everywhere down there is good for beer.

I liked the Widmer brewery tour when I did it.

Go try some mancakes at the stepping stone cafe. I have not had them but had some friends recommend them.

When I was there last i stayed at Ace Hotel and it was pretty cool. It is right on top of a stumptown coffee. Look in the drawers of the card catalog on the mezzanine. It is full of crappy poetry and letters written by the hipster-emo kids hanging around the lobby. They are hilarious. Also you get free bike rental at the hotel.
