Problem unlocking Fido LG Xenon
So I purchased a couple LG Xenon phones off of Kijijji with the intention of unlocking both. One a guy used for a while, a couple months, the other one he just gave me. It had no SIM card or anything, but seemed to work pretty well when I turned it on. Apparently it is newer and never been used according to the guy I bought them from.
I took the SIM Card out of the old one, put it in the new one with the intention of unlocking it first. Found out the IMEI number, and went to cellunlocker.net to purchase an unlock code. Bought it, and followed the instructions.
I don't have a foreign SIM card lying around, so I typed in *#865625# and I get a screen that says 'Security' - Unlock USIM. I click on it and I get 5 different options. Network Lock, Network Subset Lock, Service Provider Lock, Corporate Lock, SIM/USIM Lock. When I click on Network Lock I get 'Your Phone is not Personalized.' Same thing with 'Network Subset Lock', Corporate Lock' and 'SIM/USIM Lock.' All return the 'your phone is not personalized' message. When I click on Service Provider Lock, it gives me the you're about to SIM unlock your phone message. I press okay and when I enter the NCK code, the SPCK and the SIMCK they all don't work. I emailed cellunlocker.net about it, and they said it is the SPCK that I should. Tried it again, still doesn't work. So I have no idea what to do now.
I've tried 5/10 attempts, and I don't feel like hardlocking my phone.
I am 100% sure my IMEI number is correct. I checked it at least 50x. And I'm 100% that I entered the SPCK correctly. I checked that 200x then 2nd time around. The phone model is a GR500FD, which is what I selected on the cellunlocker.net website. So I'm not sure what I did wrong, or what is happening.
Unless the phone is screwed up in some way I don't get. Would swapping the SIM card from the old one to the new one, and then trying to unlock the new one create a problem? I'm just reaching for answers here.
I've unlocked phones before and never had a problem. I might try to unlock the old one tomorrow, and see if that works.
Any help would be appreciated.
