I get what your saying and an awful lot of it is completely valid. But half of the battle for anything is in the forum of public relations, and to me sometimes the gay pride message of the parade tends to be lost as some of it and some of the participants almost seems to be acting as freakish as possible. There's a difference between fighting to gain acceptance and making a statement.

I agree that there's a great reason to have a gay pride parade, however the question is in my mind, if your going to continually try to gain the acceptance of future and past generation, should you really have elements in these parades that make it so members of these generations not show up. I have no problems bringing my nephews to parades that are fun and bright and have purpose. I'm not bringing them to any public display of naked bondage no matter if its male on male or male on femaile.

I also would like to understand why you would think that a hetero pride parade should be protested? it sounds almost heterophobic.

There's a difference between taking pride in who you have sex with and displaying the most extreme and stereotypical manner of having sex with someone. When you see people running around in naked bondage, or pony wear or naked a$$less chaps all your really doing is feeding a stereotype not defeating the stereo type.
