How do you know this? I always find statements like this fairly ignorant. One of my friends father (born in India immigrated early 90's) as well as my friend (to a lesser extent only lived a few years there before moving) is very adment about the stereotype againts the "3rd World" that they are sexist and are all extremists in their religions he says its almost 100 percent americanized in larger cities even some having gay bars, as well as technology used in farming and women politicians in the local polotics. Women can also have jobs in more urban areas (you have to admit that there are some very redneck areas in N.A. where men don't allow there wives to work due to their beliefs) He also has 5 sisters and only one brother and doesn't know of any of his friends parents ever complaining about having more daughters than sons. He gave me a very long and in depth lecture about this once after watching a documentary on the news that made it look like they were still in the cavemen ages over there. Just because the American media (who is also in war with some of these "3rd world" countries) makes them out to be dogs doesn't make it true.
