Avs 3, Devils 3
The Colorado Avalanche had a dismal second period and the Devils took advantage to earn a 3-3 tie.
Newcomer Scott Walker got two assists and Shawn Bates got a goal and an assist for the Avs. Steve Rucchin netted the other Colorado goal.
Legace had another strong performance, saving 34 of 37 shots and earning second star honours.
Pavel Trnka was charged with a head-butting penalty but replays clearly show it was unintentional. He got an assist in the final minute of play to force overtime and salvage a point.
