I would have thought the old bank notes were near impossible to counterfeit well. What with the hologram strip, the tiny symbols, the braille, the way the certain pictures match up from both sides when you hold them to the light (lines and squiggles become 100 on the 100 note, 50 on the 50, etc)
People probably just don't pay enough attention. If they didn't with the old bills, it's unlikely they will with the new bills.
Oh well, as long as they last longer and are therefore cheaper, it's ok with me.
Though I wonder what it cost to update the machinery and process in the mint?
