We discovered yesterday that we have at least one bird that has taken up residence in our bathroom vent. I know that once it's gone we'll get a better cover and prevent this from happening down the road, but how do we get it or them out?

I know that we could do something like spray perfume into there from the bathroom side and that might work. I'm reluctant because they might have a nest there though and that might make the adults abandon this and we'll be left with a rotting nest! For a similar reason I don't want to just seal them in there.

My wife got up on a ladder last night and she couldn't see much. She thinks there is a nest, but it's hard to say...they could be pretty far back. (This was from the outside of the house btw)

So CP, what say you? Is there someone we should be calling? I really have no idea how to deal with this...I just know that as lovely as the singing is we'd like to get rid of them sooner rather than later!
