I skimmed through the thread, hopefully this wasn't already posted:

Peeace's family tells a different story, one that claims police intervention wasn't required.

They say one officer approached the door of the home and Peeace closed it as an indication to the officers they were not needed.

They do admit, however, he was holding a knife when the officers arrived. "He did, but he didn't charge at them," Cheyenne, Corey's niece said. "He just turned around and was so surprised to see them and they shot him four times."

Bill Criss, a neighbour, has seen it numerous times. "I can think of at least three fights that I was home for. And the neighbours, we've all been told just to call 911, not to bother with the non-emergency line."

I'm not sure how one claims the police "aren't needed" if somebody is holding a knife in a domestic dispute - but to be fair, I wasn't there so who knows.

Ironic perhaps, but also sad:

Peeace's family also said that Corey was suing the police over a Tasering incident that occurred over a year ago.
