You can create a user account and get email/text notifications of when certain types of aircraft have filed a flight plan to a city you choose. That is how I get notifications for any 747's, Antonov 124, or even A380 flights that may end up here. The main airport window also shows a lot of the flights that are in the area, and not coming into YYC, so you can find out what that big plane was that you saw cruising over the city on the way to the NW for example. |
I find Flight Stats more user friendly, but when charters or cargo flights come in I'll check Flight Aware to see what they are, as they often have that higher level of detail.
Mind you it says a charter Air Canada Jazz CRJ flew into YQY last night, but magically flew out a Dash-8
