I've had to deal with agitated golfers like that and felt letting them play through was the best option. Is it worth it getting into a confrontation?

I don't understand why golfers feel the need to escalate the situation. It wouldn't be a laughing matter is someone was hurt badly. I suspect if the golf course found out, both parties would be banned and rightly so.
