Again, a lot of their business is parcels. Sending a letter is peanuts compared to the cost of sending packages. As soon as you show me how I can get this stuffed bear to my niece for her birthday over the internet, I'll buy the argument that Canada Post is now irrelevant. And the thing is I posted the same point pages back and the same "people do everything over the internet so we don't need Canada Post anymore" stuff keeps coming back up. Oi.
As for Zip.ca, I've been far more affected by their reduction of zip-refill than by this strike. Cinemail is hit harder given that the strike is going to hammer Winnipeg given that that is a key area for CUPW and they will probably rotate the strike through there often.
BTW - I LIKE when I get a broken DVD from Zip. They send you another copy plus a bonus DVD.
