I'm not sure why this is the case with Rundblad, but it might be because of when his birthday is, this is why he was ineligible for the WJC this year as well... its all why Spencer Bennett was an overage WHLer despite being drafted in his first eligible draft... and why Nazim Kardi was eligible to be in the AHL this season

that is actually a very good point to be honest, for a young developing team like the Islanders, Winnipegers, Oilers and even Leafs (and he is very close with Phaneuf) this could be a very smart move... now the question is this, is it worth 4.5 million to one of these teams to develop their young stars?

he is 21 and not 20, so I think he will become a UFA, same situation as Alexander Dielert (not that anyone will want him) where I think he too will be a UFA
