I think the general opinion is that suicide is considered a mortal sin by Christians and Catholics alike. After some quick interneting, I found;
1 Corinthians 3:17
"
If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are."
Which many people have interpreted it to describe the act of suicide, in amongst things such as drug use, sexual acts, etc. Unfortunately the whole "open to interpretation" causes a lot of grey areas.
Under the commandmants though, it would seem as though assisted suicide would be condemned and illegal by religious law.
