It could have been a lot worse that is for sure, based on the time of day it happened! There is a bunch of stuff on youtube about it. To me that would almost knock a $0 off of some of the outrageous real estate in that area that is right on the edge where the mountains meet the ocean. One day it will be more than just the road dropping. They still had the Big Sur marathon and just had to route things a bit differently and to my knowlege the road is 100% open and just down to one lane with a stop light in the small portion that needs to be repaired. We are heading up North anyways so we have an entire extra lane beside us for most of the way.....have to often pull over to get the killer views. I have yet to do the drive heading south and I think that would be even better!
