I think Backlund is going to be a heck of a good player - I don't think that a comparison to Kesler is fair for either player as they are completely different players. I don't want to turn this into a pissing match like every other thread where the Canucks are mentioned though. No Kesler wasn't. He went to college for a couple years first. He was 20 at least. They were drafted to be different kinds of players, but I'm just saying that starting them in a 3rd line role isn't a bad place.

Edit: His first full year he was 21 (at least for most of it), same as Backlund.
