Way too much speculation in this thread about Erixon's reasons for leaving. They were much simpler than everyone is putting on. His dad played for the Rangers and he is a Rangers fan.
Quite frankly, I think he would have gotten a much better chance in Calgary than with the NYR. We definitely have the space for him to play right now. Only 4 defencmen signed and Sarich's contract is up next year. The Rangers on the other hand, have a lot better defensive prospects than we do, and their defence is younger in general. Quite frankly I hope that Erixon gets buried in the NYR system and has fun as a carreer NHLer until he decides to take his ball and go home. !@##@ him.
