oh i have plenty of idea, Backlund has shown himself as no more than a 3rd liner so far, I have no doubt he will improve, but he is definitely not ready to be in the top 6
Backlund saw 3rd line minutes until December 19th when he became a healthy scratch... in those 31 games he played less than 10 minutes twice and played almost exclusively on the 3rd line... despite getting a chance in the top 9 Backlund managed 4 goals and 8 points... then he was a healthy scratch because of his struggles... when he returned he was demoted to the 4th line because Moss had outplayed him
Backlund played better after getting back into the lineup but the fact but he still never produced to top 6 levels, unless you only remember the last 2 games where he performed really well offensive
