Carson and Pardy were both solid players last year. Pardy fell down a lot when the puck was no where near him, but other than that played a resonably solid game. Given that it seems like Babchuck won't be on the team, there is still room for Brodie. Carson and Pardy will be competing with each other for the 5th spot, unless Sarich is moved in which case it will be a competition for the 4th and 5th spot. If Brodie can demonstrate he belongs on the team, he'll be the 6th defenseman but with PP time (the role Babchuck played before). If Babchuck is signed, and Brodie plays well enough to make the team, then i'd expect one of Pardy and Carson to be traded or demoted assuming they are signed.
