It doesn't matter the situation the Flames organization was in, Erixon wanted to play in N.Y. and N.Y. only and was going to make up any excuse not to sign.
It started with not wanting to play in the AHL (which he was on the record of saying he would do), then moved into cap issues, then that we didn't give enough chances to young players, and even said its because we have too many high paid dmen locked up.
What type of prima donna uses the excuse that the Flames have 4 defenseman locked up to big contracts and that will hamper his role on the team.
He should have been happy that there were talented defenseman that he could have been partnered with on the back end. A true hockey player would have relished that opportunity to compete for ice time and been thrilled to learn from Bouw, Reggie, and Giordano.
Good riddance that Tim Erixon is gone. The Flames may have lost a good prospect today, who may end up being a great defenseman, but the character of our organization is a lot better today then it would have been with that Prima Donna around.
Sutter and Feaster cannot be blamed for this debacle, the only people at fault are Tim Erixon, his family, and his rat of an agent Jay Grossman.
