Google did indeed buy ITA Software recently for $700 million, but the travel route search results they're currently testing out at the moment are actually from somewhere else (a different company they also bought, a long time ago).
The real interesting thing that everyone is waiting for is what Google decides to do with the power of ITA (which was developed in Cambridge).
