Well, first of all if you don't mind sharing space with Leafs fans there seems to be a thriving ABC (Anything But Canucks) club here.
I've known two people who worked at EA. I've heard it's very high-reward, high-stress company, especially when there's a deadline to hit. Be prepared to cat-nap for two hours at a time on their extremely well-appointed leather couches when the push is on.
I can't comment on living in North Van, unfortunately. Best of luck in finding a suitable place.
