If you are dropping a pants size, you are likely reducing mid-rift fat, and if you are staying the same weight it is being re-distrubuted elsewhere, possibly as lean tissue. People concentrate on that weight number when better numbers to look at are waist size and body fat percentage.

Does anyone know a good ACCURATE way to measure body fat besides calipers? I can't use the calipers because after losing 170 pounds, you are left with a lot of loose skin, particularly around the belly area, so it throws off the measurement. I bought a $250 scale that uses bioelectrical impedance to estimate body fat percentage and it says 9%, but I don't believe it and several articles I have read doubt the science behind bioelectrical impedance. Is there a means to get a more accurate measure?
