Some Christians get mad when Cheese constantly puts up threads about the wacky religious right. Some cry loudly it isn't them, and don't paint us all with one brush, but still churn their own illogical nonsense and bigotry in their arguments when Thor and Photon challenge their thoughts and 'facts'.

But even the business community sees it. The rest of us, we see Gingrich and Palin, and Huckabee and go, 'oh dear god, there are people out there that would vote for these guys? They can actually get on TV, destroy history and logic, and achievements of the human race, and there is a large group of people that applaud them for it? Or at least think there is an argument behind all their superstitious speeches? They loudly decry knowledge either through sheer delusions of their own, or worse through political scheming for votes and they get elected?'

Right wing religious fundamentalism is a serious force in North America. In the world. And for all of those that say it's not part of their political party, or it doesn't paint them I ask them to open their eyes and really take a look around. And then, even if you still don't believe it's a problem, at least understand when some of us get so worked up about it.

This is a problem. And if your not speaking out against it (like so many moderate-fundamental Muslims in the middle of their problem right now) then you are a part of it.

While I agree with you 110 percent, I just wanted to add, that although the right wing nutjobs are absolutely crazy, and personally I can't stand any form of organized religion, I don't think that's a reason to automatically associate oneself with 'The Left' or a different political afflilation. Sometimes we settle simply for what we hate the least, and when it comes down to it, politicians of any sort have all kinds of skeletons, whether they are all ****ed up on drugs/alcohol and prostitution or whether they are all ****ed up on Jesus Christ, or both.

I have a friend who is constantly berating every single Republican figure in the United States, and while I agree with pretty much everything he says, he never has a logical alternative. He spends so much time hating the Right, that he doesn't know a thing about the platform of The Left. Maybe it's true that 'The Left' is simply a lesser evil.

I personally hate all religion, all political parties and mistrust most politicians equally.
