You guys are lucky with grocery costs, food is frickin' expensive here. Including fruit, which is grown within the state - I swear that it's cheaper to buy fruit in Canada that was grown here. I spend about $400 / month, which is a lot considering that I don't bag lunches for work, don't buy much junk food, and the g/f cooks me dinner at her place a few times a week. But it probably doesn't help that I'm a dude cooking for one / sometimes two in a place with good weather year round... in all honesty, 9 out 10 dinners for me include quality time in front of the BBQ. It's not conscientious behaviour to subject your BBQ to substandard quality meats.
