Yep, that's one big indicator.
The other one, for me anyways, is that he was such a feel good story. He beat cancer, and went on to win a very difficult sporting competition multiple times. It's not like he was Phil Kessel, catching his testicular cancer early enough to need an amputation, and nothing more. Armstrong needed chemo. It's one of the most insanely difficult treatments for any disease that exists. Yet he comes back, and without cheating, wins the Tour De France a bunch of times? Not likely.
It's such a feel good story though, I'm 100% sure that nobody would ever lie about him doping, just for the bad publicity that would come of it. So many people have implicated him, I doubt they would just do it for fun. There is something to it.
